We continue serialization of Empowered vol. 12, which proved to be the final volume of the series in this specific graphic-novel format, though I was unaware of that unfortunate reality when I started work on the book.

Note the very short, usually hooked tails on Semi-Meta Emp's word balloons, which is all you need to indicate who the hell is delivering said  dialogue, unlike the common repellent American comics lettering practice of adding absurdly long and ungainly balloon tails that are often shoved directly into a character's open mouth. (The "hooked" riff is a personal preference, BTW, to avoid awkward angles on short balloon tails pointing at the speaking character.)
